S&C Customer Sessions
• David Gladey, Vice President of Distribution Engineering at Eversource Energy, presents “Modernizing the Last Mile: Eversource’s Strategy to Harden Its Lateral System.” He discusses how Eversource developed a successful strategy to modernize the last mile of the grid and tackle common reliability issues. This includes implementing advanced lateral solutions with an aggressive deployment of S&C TripSaver® II Cutout-Mounted Reclosers. The session is part of the Advanced Distribution Operations conference track.

• Robert Gaddis, Director of Storm Secure Underground Program Power Delivery at Florida Light and Power, presents the session “Digging Deep: FPL’s Journey to Lateral Hardening by 2045” as part of the System Hardening and Vegetation Management track. He discusses FPL’s overall strategy to improve grid resilience and how the utility plans to use S&C’s EdgeRestore® Underground Distribution Restoration System to achieve its residential grid-hardening goal by 2045.
